(1) Information regarding the date of release of every female prisoner shall be communicated to the family members or relatives of the female prisoner, with a view to their coming and receiving her at the main gate. (2) In case no family member or relative appears to receive a female prisoner, a suitable female escort shall be provided by the Superintendent. If the female prisoner is unwilling to accept the female escort and gives the same in writing, she shall be released in an ordinary manner. If the family member or relative is not willing to accept the female prisoner, the Superintendent shall be the competent authority to send her to the NariNiketan or any other such Government institution under intimation to the District Magistrate concerned: Provided that in case the female prisoner is not willing to go to even NariNiketan or any such Government institution, then after taking it in writing from her, the female prisoner shall be released in an ordinary manner.
