Ordinary remission shall be granted to convicted prisoners by the Superintendent in the light of recommendations received from the remission committee as per the following scale, - (a) two days per calendar month for good conduct, participation in institutional activities like educational programs, de-addiction programs, etc. and meticulous compliance of prison rules; (b) two days per calendar month for working in industry or performance of the assigned daily work according to the prescribed standards; (c) one day per calendar month for working on prison holidays for general maintenance of prison or in the kitchen or farm activities or as convict officer or in the prison hospital etc; (d) three days per month to those who volunteer for sanitation work in the prison; and (e) one day extra remission per month shall be granted to the prisoners in semi-open air prison or open Air prison. Ordinary remission not earnable for any offence committed after admission to prison.
