Whoever commits an offence under this Act or any rules or regulations made thereunder for which no specific penalty is provided, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year or with a fine which may extend to one lakh rupees or in the case of a company, with a fine which may extend to fifty lakh rupees or with both.
