First meeting of Panchayat Samiti and Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman: (1) On the constitution of Panchayat Samiti under Section 56 or under any other provisions of this Act, there shall be called the first meeting thereof for the election of Chairman and Vice Chairman by and from amongst its elected members in the manner prescribed by the prescribed authority. (2) The meeting shall be held on such day within four weeks from the date on which the names of members elected at the election are notified in the official gazette by the State Election Commissioner or any other officer authorised by him in this behalf.
