Power to Government to hold general election:- (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or the rules make thereunder, the Government shall by notification direct that by such date as may be specified by the State Election Commission, a general election of panches, Sarpanches of Gram Panchayats and members of all Panchayats Samitis and Zila Parishads shall be held and made in the State of Haryana. (2) As soon as a notification is issued under sub-section (1), the State Election Commissioner and all other authorities concerned, shall take necessary steps for such election under and in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder.
