The municipality shall take up the responsibility of providing administrative and infrastructure support to the ward committee for its proper functioning and shall create mechanisms for checks and balances over the Government personnel in their ward and shall have the power to recommend to the competent authority for imposition of penalties for misconduct and negligence of duties.
