Section 8

The Executive Council shall consist of the following persons, namely:- I

The Executive Council shall consist of the following persons, namely:- I. Ex officio member- (i) The Vice-Chancellor; *(ii) The Secretary to Government, Haryana, Finance Department or nominee not below the rank of Joint Secretary; (iii) The Secretary to Government, Haryana, Education Department or a nominee not below the rank of Director/ Joint Secretary; (iv) The Secretary to Government, Haryana, Technical Education Department or a nominee not below the rank of the Joint Secretary; II. Other members- *(a) Three Deans of Faculties to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, by rotation in accordance with the procedure laid down by the University; (b) Two Principals of Colleges/ institutions admitted to the privileges of University by rotation on the basis of seniority; 27 (c ) Two professors (other than Deans of the Faculties) by rotation on the basis of seniority; (d) Two teachers of the University Teaching Department (other than Professors) may be elected from amongst themselves out of whom one shall be an Associate Professor; (e) Six persons to be nominated by the Chancellor on the recommendation of the Vice Chancellor from amongst distinguished professionals and eminent persons from the industry/ chambers of Commerce/ Technical Universities/ Indian Institute Technology/ Indian Institute of Management/ All India Council for Technical Education, etc. III. (i) The Registrar shall be the Ex officio Secretary of the Executive Council. (ii) Two fifth of the members will form a quorum. (iii) Save as otherwise expressly provided, the members of the Executive Council, other than Ex officio members, shall hold office for a term of two years. Power of the Executive Council.
