Short title, extent and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Dangerous Machines (Regulation) Act, 1983. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) This section and clause (c) of section 3 shall come into force at once in all the States and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force in a State on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act; and any reference in any provision of this Act to the commencement of this Act shall in relation to any State be construed as a reference to the commencement of that provision in that State.
