Subject to the control of the Academic Council, the powers of the faculty shall be- (a) to co-ordinate teaching and research work of the University in the Departments assigned to the Faculty; (b) to recommend to the Academic Council courses of studies and syllabi for the different examinations after necessary reports from the Boards of studies; (c) to receive reports from the Department for the creation and abolition of posts and to forward them to the Academic Council with such recommendations as it may consider reasonable; (d) to discuss and suggest to the Academic Council schemes for the advancement of standards of teaching and examination; and (e) to deal with any matter that may be referred to it by the Academic Council or the Vice-Chancellor or the Dean of the Faculty.
