Gear for suspension of scaffold:-The employer shall ensure at a construction site of a building or other construction work that— (a) chains, ropes or lifting gears used for suspension of a scaffold are of adequate strength, made of sound material and suitable for the purposes of their use and are maintained in good repairs; (b) chains, wires, ropes or metal tubes used for the suspension of a scaffold are— (i) properly and securely fastened to every anchorage point and to the scaffold ledgers of other main supporting members used for the support of such scaffold; and (ii) so positioned as to ensure stability of the scaffold. 84 The Building and Other Construction Workers‘ (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Central Rules, 1998 Rule 202
