Notwithstanding the expiration of the period of fifteenth years from the commencement of the Constitution of India, the English language may continue to be used for the transaction of business in the Legislature of the State of Gujarat by addition to any of the official languages of the State of Gujarat. Explanation.- In this Act the expression “official languages” means the Gujarati language and the Hindi language in Devnagari script which have been declared under the Gujarat Official Languages Act, 1960 as the languages to be used for official purposes in the State of Gujarat. ---------------- Short title, extent and commence- ment.
