(1) The State Government may, by notification 111 the Qfficia/ Gazelfe, with effect on and from such date as may be specified, constitute a Council for the purposes of this Act to be called "the Gujarat State I ligher Education Council". (2) The Council shall be a body corporate by the name aforesaid having perpetual succession and a common seal and shall be entitled to acquire, hold and dispose.of property, to enter into contracts and to do all other things necessary for the purposes of this Act and shall by its name sue and be sued.
