In any proceedings either before the Competent Authority, the Scrutiny Committee or the Appellate Authority under this Act or in any trial of offence under this Act, the burden of proving that the person belongs to any of the Scheduled Castes, ' Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes shall be on such claimant/applicant.
