(1) For the purpose of securing the uplift of Scheduled Castes in the State of Gujarat, the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, establish a Corporation by the name of the Gujarat Scheduled Castes Development Corporation with effect from such date as may be specified in the notification. (2) The Corporation shall be a body corporate, with perpetual succession and common seal and may sue and be sued in its corporate name and shall be competent to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both moveable and immoveable, and to contract and do all things necessary for the purposes of this Act.
