Subject to the provisions of this Act and the regulations, the Academic !'unction' of Academic Council of tht: University shall excrciw the following powers and perform Coun<il Fi.nanf't Commintt. follo"ing functions. nam.:ly:- (i) to exercise control o~cr the academic policies of the University and be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of standards of i~truction. education and evaluation in the University: (ii) to consider m:mers of general academic interest e11her on i~ own initiative or on a reference from the faculry of :he t:niver..ity or the Board and to take appropriate action thereon: (iii) to recommend to the Board, such regulations as arc consistent with this Act regarding the academic functioning of the lJ niversity incl1:ding discipline of students; and (iv) to exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the regulations.
