(1) The Governor of the State of Gujarat shall be the Chancellor of the university: Provided that for The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Her Highness Shrimati Shubhangini Raje Gaekwad shall be the Chancellor of the University. (2) The Chancellor shall, by virtue of his/her office, be the head of the University and shall, if present, preside at the Convocations of the University held for conferring degrees.
