(1) This Act may be called the Bombay Public Conveyances Act, 1920. (2) This section and sections 36, 38 and 39 extend to the 3[whole of the 4[State of Gujarat]. 5[* * * * * * * * ,]: 6[Provided that on the commencement of the Bombay Public Conveyances (Unification and Amendment) Act, 1958, the rest of the Act shall come into force at once in those parts of the State of Bombay in which the Hackney-carriage Act, 1879, or the Hyderabad Public Conveyances Act, 1956, or the Bombay Public Conveyances Act, 1920, as adapted and applied to the Saurashtra area or the Bombay Public Conveyances Act, 1920, as extended to the Kutch area was in force immediately before such commencement.]
