(1) The commissioner or any police officer empowered by him in this behalf may, on a certificate signed by the Medical Officer of Health or by any duly qualified medical practitioner, direct or cause the removal of any person who is suffering from a dangerous disease and who is, in the opinion of such Medical Officer of Health or other medical practitioner, without proper lodging or accommodation, or is lodged in a building occupied by more than one family, or whose circumstances are such that proper precautions to prevent the spread of infection cannot be taken or that such precautions are not being taken, to any hospital or place at which patients suffering from the said disease are received for medical treatment. (2) The person, if any, who has charge of a person in respect of whom an order is made under sub-rule (1) shall obey such order.
