(1) The 106[State] Government may, from time to time cause enquiry to be made by any of its officers in regard to any anthorised municipality or school board on matters connected with primary eduction concerning them or any matters with respect to which the sanction, approval, consent or order of the 106[State] Government is required by or under this Act. (2) The officer holding such enquiry shall have the powers of a court under the Code of Civil Procedure 1908, to take evidence and to compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of documents for the purposes of the enquiry. The Bombay Primary Education Act, 1947 33 of 43 (3) The 106[State] Government may make orders as to the costs of any enquiries made under sub-section (1) and as to the party by whom and the funds out of which they shall be paid, and such order may on the application of the 106[State] Government or of any person named therein be executed as if it were a decree of a civil court.
