(1) If in the opinion of the Director the execution of any order or resolution of a school board or the doing of anything which is about to be done or is being done by or on behalf of the board is in excess of the powers conferred by, or contrary to this Act or the rules or regulations made thereunder, or is otherwise unlawful, he may, by order in writing under his signature, suspend the execution or prohibit the doing thereof. (2) When the Director makes an order under sub-section (1), he shall forthwith forward to the board affected by it a copy of such order with a statement of the reasons for making it. (3) The Director shall forthwith submit to the 104[State] Government a report of every case occurring under this section and the 104[State] Government may Inspecting staff. Inspecting officers to be present at school board meetings. Powers of supervision. Power to call for return or require explanation etc. Power of suspending execution of orders, etc. of school board. The Bombay Primary Education Act, 1947 32 of 43 annul, confirm, revise or modify any order made therein and make in respect thereof any other order : Provided that no order of the Director passed under this section shall be confirmed, revised or modified by the 104[State] Government without giving the board reasonable opportunity of showing cause against the said order.
