Whoever knowiµg gives or causes to be given a false alarm of fire to the fire brigade of a municipality or corporation or to any office or fireman thereof whether by means of a street fire-alarm, statement, message or otherwise, or, with intent to give such fales alarm wilfully breaks the glass of or otherwise damages a street fire-alarm, shall on conviction, be pnnished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with fire which may extend to one hundred rupees or with both.
