(I) The Chancellor shall have the right to cause an inspection to •••p<etioo be made by such person or persons as be may direct, of the University, •nd Inquiry, its bu tidings, laboratories and equipment and of any constituent units of the University and to cause an inquiry to be made in respect of any matter counected with the University. 16-10 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE. (4) The University shall, withi11 the time limit so fixed, report 10 the Chancellor the action which has been iaken or is propose to be !<!ken on the advice tendered by the Chancellor. (5) The Chancellor may, where such action has not been taken by the University to the satisfaction of the Chancellor within the time limit fixed and after considering any explanation furnished or representation made by the University, issue such directions as he may think fit and the University shall comply wilh such directions. (6) Notwithstanding anything contained in the preceding sub- sec1ions, if at any time lhe Chancellor is of the opinion that the affairs of the University are no1 managed in furihcrance of the objects of the University, or in accordance with the provisions <;>f this Act and the statutory regula1ions or the special measures are desirable to maintajn the standards of the University for Leaching, examination, research, extension education, he may indicate 10 the Universi1y any matter in regard for which it desires an explanation, and call upon the University to offer such explanations, within such time as may be specified by the Chancellor. lf the University fails to give any explanation within the time specified or offer an explanation which, in the opinion of the Chancellor is unsa1isfactory, the Chancellor may issue such instruc1ions as appeared necessary and desirable to him in PART IV] GU.JARA T GOVERNMENT GAZETrE, EX. 3-04-20 17 the circumstances of the case and may exercise such powers as necessary for giving effect to the instructions.
