( I) The Governor of the State of Gujarat shall, by virtue of Chancellor. his office, be the Chancellor of the University. (2) The Chancellor shall be the Head of the University and shall when present, preside al the Convocation of the University. (3) The Chancellor may by an order in writing, annul any order or proceedings of the officer or any authority of the University which is not in conformity with this Act and the Statutes: Provided that before making any such order he shall call upon the officer or the authority concerned to show cause why such an order should not be made and if any sufficient cause is shown within the time specified in this behalf, he shall consider the same and pass appropriate order. (4) The Chancellor shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as are conferred on him by this Act or the Statutes.
