3[(2) This section extends to the whole of the 4[State of Gujarat]. The remaining provisions of this Act extend to 5[the City of] Ahmedabad as con- stituted under section 3 of the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949, 6 * * * The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, direct that the said provisions shall extend to such other areas as may be specified in the notification.] (3) This section shall come into force at once. The 7[State] Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, direct that the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force in any area to which the said provisions extend or may have been extended under sub-section (2) on such date as may be specified in the notification.
