(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in sections 3 and 4, every owner of a place in which a lift or an escalator has been installed before the date of the commencement of this Act shall, within three months from such date apply for a licence for operating of such lift or escalator. Application for licence in case of existing lifts and escalators. (2) The provisions of sub-sections (2) and (3) of section 4 shall, as far as may be, apply to such application.
