Any sum payable 46[ to the Board or ] into the Fund under this Act shall, without prejudice to any other mode of recovery, be recoverable on behalf of the Board as an arrear of land revenue. 48[17A. Any employer who fails to pay any amount of unpaid accumulations or fines realised from employees or any amount of the employer's or, as the case may be employee's contributions, within the period specified in a notice served on him under sub- section (1) of section 6-C, shall, on conviction, be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both.
