(~i The Fina11ce Committee shall exercise ihc followmg pov.crs and perform the following functions. namely:- (a) to examine the annual accounts of the University and to advise the Board thereon; (b) to examine the annual budget estimates ; (c) to make recommendations to the University on all proposals involving expenditure for which no provision has been made in the budget or which involves expenditure in excess of the amount provided in the budget ; (d) to review the position of financial resources, of the University from tune to tim0; (e) generally to advise the Board on all financial matters; (f) to make recomrnen<lation to the Board on all matters relating to finances of the University: (g) to recommend economy in administrative expenses: (h) to perfonn such other functions relating to aceollnts and audit of 1hc revenue and expenditure of the University as rnay be assigned 10 1! by the Board of Managcmem; and (i) to advise the Board of Management in financial ma!lcrs whenever such advice is sought by the Board of Ylanagement. The Re~ ident instruction in the University shall include Bachelor's Instruction. dcgrt:e, Master's degree and Doctorate degree programmes and short-term diploma and ccrti licate courses in the disciplines of Veterinary and Animal Science, Dairy, Fisheries and other allied sciences as may be prescribed. Research. 34. (I) The University shall cany on strategic, basic and applied research in Veterinary. Animal Husbandry, Dairy. fisheries and allied sciences. (2) The University through its Research Council shall be the principal agency for research activities in Veterinary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Fisheries ;ind 8llicd Sciences within its jurisdiction.
