(1) There shall be established a University by the name of the “Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG)”. (2) The President, the Director, the Deans, the Members of the Governing Council, Executive Council, the Academic and Research Council, the Finance Committee and all other persons who may hereafter become such officers and members so long as they continue to hold such office or membership, shall constitute a body corporate by the name of the “Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG)”. (3) The University shall have perpetual succession and a common seal, and shall sue and be sued by the said name. (4) The University shall be competent to acquire and hold property, to lease, sell, or otherwise transfer any property which may vest in or be acquired by it for the purpose of the University and to contract and do all other things necessary for the purposes of this Act. (5) The headquarters of the University shall be at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
