(1) Any casual vacancy, previous to the expiry of the term, in the office of the President due to the death, resignation, removal, disability or disqualification of the President or any other reason shall be filled by nomination or election according as the President was nominated or elected. (2) Any such vacancy in the office of a member of the Council nominated by the State Government shall be filled by nomination. (3) Any such vacancy in the office of a member of the Council elected by the registered practitioners shall be filled by the State Government by nomination of a person from a panel of three registered practitioners recommended by a resolution of the Council passed by a majority of all the then members of the Council : Provided that if the Council fails to pass such a resolution within such time as the State Government may fix, the State Government may appoint any registered practitioner to fill the vacancy and the practitioner so appointed shall, for purposes of this sub-section, be have duly nominated. (4) Any person nominated or elected to fill a causal vacancy under this section shall, notwithstanding anything contained in section 5, hold office only so long as the person in whose place he is nominated or elected would have held office, had the vacancy not occurred.
