(1) This Act may be called the 1a[Gujarat] Hindu Places of Public Worship (Entry Authorization) Act, 1956. 2[(2) It extends to the whole of the 3[State of Gujarat]]. (3) It shall come into force 4[in the Bombay area of the State of Gujarat] on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette 5[appoint and in that part of the 6[State of Bombay] to which it is extended by the Bombay Hindu Places of Public Worship (Entry Authorization) (Extension) Act, 1957, it shall come into force on such other date as the State Government may, by notification published in the like manner, appoint].
