(1) This Act may be called the 2[Gujarat] Highways Act. 1955. (2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bombay. (3) This section shall come into force at once. The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, direct that all or any of the remaining provisions of this Act shal1 come into force in such area and on such date as may be specified in the notification: Provided that the State Government may, by notification issued in like manner, exclude any road or way or class of roads or ways situate in such area from the operation of all or any of the provisions of this Act.
