( 1) For the purpose of providing for the cost of fire prevention and life safety services in the State, the State Goverrunent may levy and collect a fire fees on lands and buildings which are situated in any area in which this Act is in force notwithstanding any declaration made under proviso to sub-section ( l) of section 3. (2) The fire fees shall be levied at such rate in terms of percentage of such property tax as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, determine from time to time: Provided that, the State Government may determine different rate of percentage for different areas or different local authority or authorities.
