An Act to provide for the levy of a duty on consumption of electrical energy in the State of Bombay. WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the levy of a duty on consumption of electrical energy in the State of Bombay; It is hereby enacted in the Ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows :– 1.(1) This Act may be called the 2[Gujarat] Electricity Duty Act, 1958. (2) It extends to the whole of the 3[State of Gujarat]. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
