(1) The Academic Council of the University shall consist of the following members, namely:- (i) the Vice-Chancellor of the University, ex-officio, who shall be the Chairman of the Academic Council; (ii) two academicians or professionals, to be nominated by the Board; (iii) two external academicians or professionals in the area of science and technology, to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor; (iv) two Deans of the University, by rotation to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor; (v) one Professor from each discipline of the University, by rotation to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor; and (vi) the Registrar who shall be the non-member secretary of the Council. (2) The term of office of the members other than the ex-officio member shall be three years.
