The provisions of section 148 shall apply to the offences under this chapter, subject to the modifications that it shall be lawful for a Metropolitan Magistrate or Judicial Magistrate of the first class to pass a sentence or fine on any person convicted of any offence under this Chapter in excess of his power under section 29 of the Code Criminal Procedure, 1973 and that no prosecution for an offence punishable under this Chapter shall be lodged, except with the previous sanction of the Collector. 2 of 1974.
