Clauses (iv) and (v) were substitued by Guj. 10 of 2010, s.9 14 The CEPT University Act, 2005. [2005 : Guj. 24 (4) The Academic and Research Council of the University shall have the following powers and perform the following duties, namely:- (i) to develop perspective plan for academic development of the University; (ii) to develop academic and research policies of the University and to exercise control and have superintendence over the maintenance and improvement of standards of instructions, education and evaluation; (iii) to approve new programmes and to approve changes or modifications in existing programmes; (iv) to receive reports of the Boards of Studies and make suitable recommendations in academic matters of programmes; (v) to recommend to the Boards of Studies, the Deans and the persons in charge of various academic programmes to make suitable changes in the programmes including methods of assessment; (vi) to initiate or approve research programmes including collaborative research; (vii) to initiate or approve collaboration with other educational institutions; (viii) to encourage and develop joint inter-disciplinary programmes; (ix) to exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred upon it by the regulations.
