(1) In the areas 5[to which section 43C applies] notwithstanging anything contained in section 31 to 31D (both inclusive) a landlord may terminate the tenancy of a tenant (other than a permanent) in respect of any land with effect from the 31st day of May of any year by giving the tenant three months notice in writing, if the landlord bona fide requires the land for any non-agricultural purpose:
