(1) The Statutes may be made by the Board or may be amended, repeaJed or added lQ by the Board in the manner hereinafter provided. [PART rv PART N j GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, EX. 01-04-2017 (2) The Board may take into consideration the draft of Statutes either of its own motion or on a proposal by the Executive Council. (3) The Executive Council may propose to the Board the draft of any Statutes to be passed by the Board. (4) Such draft shall be considered by the Board at its next succeeding meeting. The Board may approve such draft and pass the Statute or may reject it or return it to the Executive Council for rccousideratioo either in whole or in part together with any amcndme11ts which the Board may suggest. After any draft so returned has been further considered by the Executive Council together with any amendments suggested by the Board, it shall be again presented to the Board with the report of the Executive Coimcil thereon aod the Board may then deal with the drn.ll in the manner as it thinks fit. (5) Where a Statute affects the powers or duties of any officer or authority of the University,- (i) the Executive Council shall, before proposing the draft of such Statute, ascertain and consider the views of the officer or the authority concerned; and (ii) the Board, before pa~sing any such Statute taken into consideration of its own motion, shall ascertain and consider the views of the otliccr or U1c authority concerned and the opinion of the Executive Council. (6) Every Statute passed by the Board shall be submitted lo the State Government which may give or withllold approval thereto or rder it back to the Board for reconsideration. (7) No Statute passed by the Board shall have validity until assented to by the Si.ate Government.
