(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes, the University shall carry on research directed towards solving the problems of agriculture and allied sciences for the purpose of development of agriculture and of providing benefits to the rural population of the University area and for carrying out such research, it shall establish an Agricultural Research Organisation. (2) The Agricultural Research Organisation shall consist of the following officers and employees, namely:-- (a) the Director of Research and Dean of Post-graduate Studies, who shall be the Head of the Organisation, (b) Associate Directors of Research appointed by the University for various agro-climatic zones falling in the University area, (c) Scientists entrusted with the work of research on various crops, commodities or natural resources, by the University, (d) such other officers and employees appointed by the University for the purpose of the Organisation. (3) The Agricultural Research Organisation shall have control also over other agricultural research activities in the University area.
