Duty of Authority to protect, etc.— (1)Every Authority concerned responsible for discharging the services such as,— (a) public transport, private transport including by road, water, air; (b) hospitals, dispensaries; (c) schools, colleges, universities, board of education, technical institutions; (d) municipal markets, shopping complexes, shopping centers including the public street; shall be duty-bound to prevent any kind of harassment, eve-teasing, etc., and to protect any widow, woman of any age and children, senior citizens and physically challenged persons. (2) Failure on the part of any Authority or its officers or employees to comply with the provisions of sub-section (1) shall constitute an offence punishable under the provisions of this Act.
