Cognizance and trial of offences

Cognizance and trial of offences.— (1) No court shall take cognizance of any offence punishable under this Act or any rule or regulation made thereunder unless complaint of such offence is made within six months next after the commission thereof. (2) No court inferior to that of a Magistrate of the First Class shall try any offence punishable under this Act, or any rule or regulation made thereunder. (3) Every offence punishable under this Act shall be a cognizable offence and a bailable one.
