Establishment and incorporation of Board.— (1) There shall be established a Board to be called the Goa Rehabilitation Board. (2) The Board shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued in it’s corporate name and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, be competent to acquire, hold and dispose of property both movable and immovable and to contract and do all things necessary for the purposes of this Act. (3) For the purposes of this Act and the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act of 1894), the Board shall be deemed to be a local authority. Explanation:— The purposes of this Act referred to in sub-section (3) shall include the management and use of lands and buildings belonging to or vesting in the Board and the exercise of it’s rights over and with respect to such lands and buildings.
