Application of the term “public servant” to members of Panchayats and their officers and servants.— Every member of Panchayat, or Zilla Panchayat and every officer and servant, employee under the Panchayat, or Zilla Panchayat shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of 163[as defined in clause (28) of section 2 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (Central Act 45 of 2023)] and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Central Act 49 of 1988), for the time being in force.
