Penalty for interested member voting.— Whosoever votes as member of a Panchayat or Zilla Panchayat in contravention of the provisions of sub-section (4) of section 55 or clause (g) of sub-section (2) of section 136, shall on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees. [“212. Penalty for interested member voting.— Whosoever votes as a member of a Panchayat or Zilla Panchayat in contravention of the provisions of sub-section (4) of Section 55 or clause (g) of sub-section (2) of Section 136 shall be liable to a penalty which may extend to five thousand rupees.
