Term of office.— (1) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, a member whether elected or nominated, shall hold office for a period of three years from the date of publication of the notification under sub-section (8) of section 3, for a maximum of two terms. (2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, the President and the Vice-President shall hold office from the date of their election upto the date on which their term of office as a member expires.
