Penalty for dishonest use of certificate

Penalty for dishonest use of certificate.— Any person who,— (a) dishonestly makes use of any certificate of registration or enlistment issued under the provisions of this Act to him or any other person; -17- (b) procures or attempts to procure registration or enlistment under the provisions of this Act by making or producing, or causing to be made or produced, any false or fraudulent declaration, certificate or representation, whether in writing or otherwise; or (c) willfully makes or causes to be made any false representation in any matter relating to the register or the list maintained or any certificate issued under the provisions of this Act, shall, on conviction, be punished,— (i) for the first offence, with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees; (ii) for any subsequent offence, with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees, or with both.
