(2) Every 236[Chairperson] or 237[Vice-Chairperson] who resigns his office or is removed from office or ceases to be 238[Chairperson] or 239[Vice-Chairperson] for any reason other than the election of a new 240[Chairperson] or 241[Vice-Chairperson] shall hand over charge of his office— (i) to the 242[Vice-Chairperson], if he is the 243[Chairperson], (ii) to the 244[Chairperson], if he is the 245 [Vice-Chairperson]. (3) If any 246[Chairperson] or 247[Vice-Chairperson] refuses to hand over charge of his office as required under sub-section (1) or sub-section (2), the Director may, by order in writing, direct the 248[Chairperson] or the 249[Vice-Chairperson], as the case may be, to forthwith hand over charge of his office and all papers and property of the Council, if any, in his possession as such 250[Chairperson] or 251[Vice-Chairperson], to the persons specified in sub-section (1) or sub-section (2) and such 252[Chairperson] or 253[Vice-- Chairperson] to whom a direction has been issued under this sub-section shall hand over charge as required by the Director.
