Power to obtain information.— (1) The requisitioning authority may, with a view to requisitioning any property under section 36 or determining the compensation payable under section 37 by order, require any person to furnish to such authority as may be specified in the order such information in his possession relating to such property as may be so specified. (2) If any person to whom such order is addressed refuses to furnish such information or wilfully furnishes false information, he shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine, or with both.
