Short title, extent and commencement. — (1) This Act may be called the Goa 6[ ] Municipalities Act, 1968. (2) It extends to the whole of the 7[State of Goa.] (3) This section shall come into force at once; and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force in such area and on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different provisions thereof and for different areas.
