Short title, extent and commencement.— (1) This Act may be called the Goa, Daman and Diu (Abolition of Proprietorship of Lands in Diu) Act, 1970. (2) It extends to all the areas within the jurisdiction of the village panchayats constituted under the Goa, Daman and Diu Village Panchayat Regulation, 1962, in the district of Diu in the Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
